Do you want to reward your kid with a chocolate or to make him calm down with a bag of chips? Think about that again before do it! Childhood obesity is a phenomena growing among our children.
Your daily problems at work and at home can determine you to yield to temptation to buy junk food for you and your family. Did you ever think what a hamburger or a candy really hide? Too many E’s, food preservatives and synthetic dyes, which are pointing just one result: obesity for your kid, for you and for your entire family.
But how can we define childhood obesity? It is the extra body fat which affects the entire organism on a long period of time and some times irreversible.
Causes of childhood obesity are:

How to get rid of childhood obesity and how to keep the results for a long period?
Best way to maintain your child’s healthy is to create him some healthy habits. Teach him what to eat and how much. Most important thing, beside healthy eating habits, create him some sportive activities.
- processed products trade: refined sweets, fast food, rich in unsaturated fats;
- fatty meats and sausages;
- cheese rich in fat and salt;
- carbonated beverages;
Lately studies have shown that only a diet or physical exercises are not enough to combat childhood obesity. If you want that your baby to have noticeable results, you have to combine dieting with sports. In other words, help him to pass to another life style…healthy and natural.
Regarding allowed foods, nutritionists don’t recommend introducing vegetarian menu in children or to another diets based on starvation. It’s enough to replace pork meet with beef meet and chicken with turkey or fish.
Instead of butter, cream or cream cheese give him milk (without cacao and sugar), simple yoghurt and cottage cheese. Replace carbonated beverages with water with lemon and even with a little spoon of honey, for a better taste and some energy.
Add in his diet many fruits and vegetables and don’t combine meet with bread, pastas with rice. In other words, is not indicated to mix foods containing proteins or carbohydrates.
Offer him the chance to an active life, making him a sport schedule. If your kid was not doing sports, start with easy activities which are not to solicitants, like biking or rollerblading. Then pass to swimming, badminton, karate and dance.
And don’t forget to make him sleep at least 8 hours a night if your kid has over 7 years old. Be very close to your child in his battle with extra pounds and give him a good example by eating healthy, making sports, preferable outdoors and you and your kid will forget about childhood obesity.
